The forum was jointly organized by the Korea International Trade Association and the Iran Chamber of Commerce. In her opening address at the Iran-Korea Business Forum, President Park says she hopes the two nation’s business leaders will ‘take another leap forward,’ on May 3 in Tehran.

In her opening address, President Park said, “Just as a Persian carpet reveals its most splendid colors the more it’s stepped on, our two nations have persevered with great strength in the face of adversity. The world economic crisis continues, but it is my hope that the business leaders of our two nations will take another leap forward.”

Referencing the famous Iranian poet Hafez’s poetic advice to, “Plant the tree of friendship that bears the fruit of fulfillment,” President Park said, “I believe the tree of friendship that we plant here today will bear our two nations the fruit of good fortune.”

Meanwhile, at the Iran-Korea one-on-one business consultation sessions held on May 2, some 31 meetings resulted in deals worth some USD 537 million. This was the most fruitful outcome out of the 16 consultation sessions that have been held overseas thus far.
