Another “Hello, Mr. K!” concert was held for non-Korean residents of Seoul on April 21 on a special stage set up for the U.S. 8th Army in Yongsan-gu District in Seoul.
Director Kim Kabsoo of the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS), Commander Maria Eoff of the U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan and about 300 members of the U.S. armed forces residing in Korea attended the first “Hello, Mr. K!” concert of the year.
The first group to come to the stage was the Saengdonggam Crew. They gave an LED dance performance inspired by traditional Korean dance and received an ardent response from the audience. They were followed on stage by pop group Minx, Jinusean, 4Ten and CLC. The traditional dance troupe Gwanggaeto Samulnori and the b-goy group M. B Crew both brought members of the audience up to the stage during their performances.
Commander Eoff was able to present Director Kim with a plaque of appreciation. “We are greatly thankful to KOCIS, part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, for organizing this concert so that we can learn more about Korea,” said the commander.
