“The Origin of the War,” a new video to promote Korea unveiled by the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) on Nov. 7, has garnered positive reviews from many viewers around the world.
The video, sending the message that peace on the Korean Peninsula will lead to world peace, has over 3.2 million views and more than a thousand likes on YouTube and Facebook over just three days since its release.
The 5.5-minute video is the prequel to the last year’s promotional video “The Last A.I. (Join in PyeongChang, Join in Peace).”
It shows an episode of researchers trying to prevent the war with A.I. by removing the aggression gene using a vaccine made with the peace gene, which successfully denuclearized the Korean Peninsula in 2018. In between scenes, K-pop, Korea’s game industry and the peace tourism to Korea’s Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) are also introduced.
The English video was viewed by people from 221 countries. As of Nov. 13 at 5 p.m., it hit 2,199,723 views on Korea.net’s official YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/GatewayToKorea), and reached 1,078,968 people on Korea.net’s Facebook profile (https://www.facebook.com/KoreaClickers).
