At 7 p.m. on Sept. 4, the Olympic Stadium in Jamsil, southern Seoul, will host the Grand K-Pop Festival. The concert will feature a pop star-studded lineup, including Girls’ Generation, ExID, CNBlue, BtoB, Beast and Block B.
The two-hour long concert is part of the ongoing Korea Grand Sale, a national promotional campaign of discounts that runs from Aug. 14 to Oct. 31. During the sale, non-Korean tourists in the country are eligible for a range of discounts at shopping malls, restaurants, on admissions to tourist sites, on performance tickets and on accommodations.
Alongside the concert, there will be sideline events, including a dance contest that allows visitors to show off their own dance skills.
Artists will be onsite, demonstrating their calligraphy and face painting. In addition, there will be a screening of a series of videos that introduce traditions, cultural experiences and tourism sites that international travelers can enjoy during their time in Korea.
Any tourist — Korean or non-Korean — is welcome to be part of the concert, and it’s free-of-charge. Seat reservations are required, however, and can be made in advance by visiting the official website of the concert (www.grandkpopfestival.com). Tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis. The website is available in Korean, English, Japanese and simplified Chinese.
