Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon and Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel held a joint press conference at the Government Complex-Seoul on July 2 where they announced their goals to strengthen bilateral ties and to focus on engines of future economic growth.

During the joint press conference, Prime Minister Lee said that the two countries agreed to bolster future ties and to make the best use of their complementary economic structures by boosting cooperation in ICT, fintech, space and aviation.

The prime minister added that he hopes that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the two countries would serve as a base for further cooperation.

Korea and Luxembourg signed two MOUs during the visit. One is between the Seoul Fintech Lab and the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, and the other is between the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Finally, concerning North Korean nuclear weapons issues, the two prime ministers agreed to work toward maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
