President Park Geun-hye visited a research center for Air Liquide in Grenoble, France, during her state trip to the European nation on June 4. President Park studied for six months in the southeastern French city in 1974.
The president inspected some of the cutting-edge hydrogen technologies at the center, such as “hydrogen charging” and “fine dust reduction” technologies. She also took a test drive of a hydrogen-powered electronic taxi jointly developed by Hyundai, Air Liquide and a Paris-based electric taxi company.
Cheong Wa Dae said that Hyundai’s world-first commercialization of hydrogen-powered cars, combined with the French companies’ strengths in hydrogen liquefaction, charging and manufacturing, will make this hydrogen-powered car project a leading example of Korea-France partnerships in cutting-edge new industries.
