Video messages from short track speed skaters in support of the upcoming Inter-Korean Summit were released on April 26.
Kwak Yoon-gy, Shim Suk-hee, Lim Hyo-jun and Choi Min-jeong, the four Olympians who impressed the crowds with their outstanding performances in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, each made a short video for the official website of the Inter-Korean Summit. In the videos, they hope that the peace that began in PyeongChang will be able to bring forward many fruitful outcomes from the upcoming meeting.
“I hope that we can gain a foothold for the beginning of peace on the Korean Peninsula through this summit,” said Kwak. “Let’s together support the summit with all our hearts.”
“I experienced a small moment of unification when the North Korean cheering squad and the South Korean crowd both supported Team Korea in Pyeongchang,” said Shim. “I’ll wait for great news from the summit, which will bring peace to the Korean Peninsula and make Korean people everywhere quite proud.”
“Please show your interest and support for the upcoming summit, just like you did during the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, held in one of the coldest winters ever,” said Lim. He added, “Go, Inter-Korean Summit!”
“It’s an honor as an Olympian that the Winter Olympics, a symbol of peace, triggered the Inter-Korean Summit,” said Choi. “Let’s pay attention to and give our support to the summit so that this Friday can be one of the best moments in history.”
There are some 60 other videos from actors, athletes, religious leaders and celebrities all calling for peace on the Korean Peninsula and around world available for viewing at the official website for the Inter-Korean Summit.
