The Korea Foundation (KF) has added 12 domestic universities to a project to boost Korean studies abroad.

The foundation on March 18 said it signed an agreement on its KF Global e-School with the universities of Kyung Hee; Keimyung; Korea; Sogang; Seoul National; Sungkyunkwan; Sookmyung Women’s; Yonsei; Ewha Womans; Chung-Ang; Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Hanyang.

Under the accord, the 12 schools from this month will provide over 700 courses to foreign counterparts through 2026. Over 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students abroad are expected to enroll.

The 12 plan to maximize performance through related on- and offline projects such as lectures abroad, contests and lectures.

Another highly anticipated event is the resumption of the e-School Fellowship, which invites outstanding students to Korea. This program underwent a four-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

Launched in 2011, the KF Global e-School seeks to expand the number of universities abroad offering Korean studies courses and alleviate the gap between demand for related education and supply of teaching staff. Last year, about 6,000 students took part in 202 courses provided at 83 universities in 28 countries.
