선명한 푸른빛 가을하늘이 돋보인 2일 한강의 아침.

On the morning of Oct. 2, the Hangang River flows toward the sea underneath a clear, blue sky.

After a day of rain, the coldest morning of the season so far was on Oct. 2. Indeed, this year the word ‘cold’ is not inappropriate for early October. People have begun to don thick jackets that have been sitting in closets all summer, and some commuters even wore scarves.

The national weather center said that the mercury went down to 8.6 degrees Celsius at 7 a.m. on Oct. 2, about 10 degrees lower than the day before. This has been the lowest temperature so far this autumn, and Daejeon saw 8.1 degrees, Jeonju 9.4 degrees, Gwangju 11.3 degrees and Busan 13 degrees Celsius. Atop Seoraksan Mountain, temperatures were even below zero and ice has now formed 5 days earlier than it did last year.

Finally, the weather center said that it will be sunny until Oct. 12 and that the daily temperature range between nighttime lows and afternoon highs will be larger than usual.
