The Protection and Security Office for the 2019 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-ROK (Republic of Korea) Commemorative Summit was opened on Nov. 15, nine days before the event, at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO).
In collaboration with all related government organizations, this pan-governmental office will oversee comprehensive security and safety management for participating heads of states and representatives from international organizations and ensure overall safety at the upcoming multilateral gathering.
The partner organizations include the Presidential Security Service, the Korea National Police Agency, the National Fire Agency, the Ministry of National Defense, the Korea Coast Guard and the National Intelligence Service.
During the summit, security service robots and autonomous guard vehicles will offer guidance and protection to visitors around the venue in highlighting Korea’s prowess in information technology-based security and safety.
