Video clips featuring world leaders and celebrities sending their words of support for the upcoming 2018 Inter-Korean Summit have been pouring in.

Video messages have come from Pope Francis, U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, high representative for foreign affairs at the European Union Federica Mogherini, and other world leaders.

The German leader called the inter-Korean talks and the expected U.S.-North Korea summit to be “a glimmer of hope,” saying that, “It would be wonderful if we could reduce tension here because it was a big concern for all of us, this tension due to nuclearization of North Korea.”

Guterres welcomed the talks by saying that, “I’m very encouraged by the recent developments on the Korean Peninsula. I think there is here an opportunity for a peaceful solution.”

The E.U. strongly supports the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the peninsula, said Mogherini. “We are ready to do our part in this process, working together with South Korea and with other key partners, including the U.S. and China. It is an opportunity we believe we cannot afford to miss.”

These video clips can be seen at the Inter-Korean Summit website and more will be uploaded in the days to come.
