Online ticket sales started for next year’s PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, just 157 days away, on Sept. 5.

To purchase PyeongChang tickets, sign up at the official website of the PyeongChang Olympic Organizing Committee and then visit the PyeongChang 2018 Tickets website (https://tickets.pyeongchang2018.com).

At the website, available in both Korean and English, click the “Purchase Tickets” section and you’ll find detailed information about the schedule of the sporting events, sporting venues and ticket prices.

Choose the sport you want and click on the icon on the right that resembles a shopping cart. You’ll then get information about seats and prices, depending on the seat class, from A to C. You can choose your seat class, not a specific seat number, which will be automatically generated when you make your payment.

The number of tickets for the most popular events — the Opening and Closing ceremonies, short-track speed skating, figure skating and speed skating — are limited to four per person. Tickets to other events can be bought up to eight per person. The total number of tickets that one person can buy is 50.

Ticket prices start at KRW 20,000. Prices for both the Opening and Closing ceremonies range from KRW 220,000 to KRW 1.5 million. Payment for tickets can only be made with a Visa credit card, or through a bank transfer.

Keep in mind that only Korean citizens or non-citizen residents in Korea with an official national ID card can buy tickets at the website.

For those residing outside Korea, tickets can be bought by visiting one of the Authorized Ticket Reseller (ATR) websites (https://tickets.pyeongchang2018.com/ATR). Click the website or contact the number belonging to your country of residence.

Ticket holders enjoy a variety of perks.
Ticket holders can use official shuttle buses between venues for free. They also enjoy exhibitions and performances on offer at the Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza, the venue that will host the Opening and Closing ceremonies, and at the Olympic Park in Gangneung, home to ice sports.

Offline ticket sales will start on Nov. 6. Tickets will be available at Incheon International Airport, at Gimpo International Airport, and at KTX stations in 19 cities across the nation. They will also be available at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Gangwon Province Office and Gangneung City Hall. Starting one day before the Olympic Games, ticket sales will start at ticket offices near the venues.

More information can be found at the PyeongChang 2018 Tickets website or by calling +82-1544-4226.

On Sept. 7, the PyeongChang Olympic Organizing Committee appointed Jet Set Sports, a New Jersey-based supplier of hospitality services for the Olympics, as an official supporter for the Winter Games. The firm will sell an Olympic package that includes tickets, accommodations, transportation and coupons for restaurants and drinks.
