Unlike spring flowers such as forsythias or azaleas, which bloom after a long winter, summer flowers display their own vivid beauty contrasting with the deep green of the trees.

In June, the heroine of the Garden of Morning Calm is the iris. During the monthly flower festival that will last until June 30, about 1,000 plants representing 30 different kinds of iris will welcome visitors. Other summer flowers, such as the lily, peony, pansy, and rose of Sharon, will also show off their beauty during monthly flower festivals from June to August this summer. People can appreciate the beauty of the hydrangea, too, as an exhibit on the flower will be held from June 5 to July 17.

The Garden of Moring Calm is made up of more than ten smaller gardens. Each has been designed according to various themes. Among them, the Garden of Eden is known for its beautiful landscape. There, we can see peonies and rambling roses. The garden is home to attractive flowers which come to full bloom in red, pink, purple or white and in a range of sizes.

A small church in the garden is another popular spot. A path toward the small, white church in the forest, with lovely flowers, creates a romantic mood. This place has been featured in many films and soap operas, including “A Promise” (1998) which starred Jeon Do-yeon and Park Shin-yang.
