Hi, it’s Hana of HANAGo.
In this episode made especially for the Chuseok Mid-Autumn Festival, I will explore a very chewy kind of Korean food – tteok.
Tteok, or rice cake, is a food that comes in many variations. No Korean festival, celebration or anniversary would be complete without tteok – and this includes Chuseok!
Songpyeon, shaped like half moons, is a type of tteok that Koreans immediately think of when they think of Chuseok.
And so today, I’m going to make some songpyeon and learn more about these moon-shaped snacks, just in time for the holidays.
