Temperatures across the peninsula are soaring over 30 degrees Celsius these days.

With the sun’s rays burning the asphalt and the humidity rising ever higher, people can easily get tired as they go through their day-to-day lives, and can even feel somewhat exhausted by the summer weather.

This heat wave also leads to tropical nights, showing its overwhelming power throughout the evening.

In early August, many people take their summer vacation. They head to the beaches or mountain valleys with their friends and families to escape their day-to-day routines. Those who have not yet been on vacation can seek out cooler locales in the city where they can soothe their body and mind.

The splashes of swimmers wishing to cool down in the hot weather carry on at the six outdoor swimming pools along the Hangang River across the city.

Parents and children have fun together in the water at the pools on August 3, the first Monday of the month. Children enjoy playing with their friends in the pools. For them, summer is a season of pleasure.
