Seoul is ranked the world’s third-best city for students to live in.

The London-based university rating agency QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) on July 28 released its “Best Student Cities 2022” list on its official website.

According to criteria including affordability, desirability and student views, London received the highest score of 100, followed by Munich, Germany, with 97.4. Seoul tied for third with Tokyo at 96.1.

QS said Seoul moved up seven spots from the 2019 survey, adding that the ranking reflects “the strong reputation” of universities in the capital among both domestic and international employers and that 21 universities in the city were also featured in the QS World University Rankings 2022.

On the reasons to study in Seoul, the agency called it “a city that never sleeps,” “the perfect place to unwind and relax,” and “a safe, diverse, thriving city.” One student who responded to the QS survey said, “The diverse culture makes for a great experience, and everything is so convenient.”
